This act also aims to establish a single point of reference for all food safety and standard matter by converting Multi department control to a single line command Ministry of health and family welfare, for the implementation of FSSAI, the Government of India is the Administrative ministry. The government appoints the chairperson and food executive officer of food safety and the standard authority of India. There are mainly 2 types of FSSAI license, Central license, state license, and the third one FSSAI registration are for petty food retailers.

Eligibility for FSSAI Registration


FSSAI Registration is a basic license that is required by all FBO involved in small scale business of food.
 Any FBO with an annual turnover must not exceed Rs. 20 lakhs
 Any manufacturers who sell food by himself.
 Small retailer dealing in food products.
 Any seller who is a temporary food stallholder.
 Anyone who distributes food in any social or religious gathering except the caterer.
 Small scale industries dealing in the food business.

Procedure for FSSAI License:


FSSAI registration is initiated by filing Form A and submitting it to the food and safety department.
 This application may be accepted or rejected by the food and safety department within 7 days from the application date and the reason would be intimated to the applicant in writing.
 If the application is accepted then the food and safety department will grant the registration certificate with the registration number and photograph of the applicant.
 FBO should prominently display the registration certificate at the business place and during the business hours.

Documents required for FSSAI Registration


 Form B complete and should be signed
 Photo identity of Food business operator (FBO)
 Possession of premises proof (eg. Rental Agreement)
 Certificate of Incorporation/Partnership Deed/Articles of Association etc.
 Food safety management system plan
 List of food products that have to be dealt

Documents for Obtaining Central FSSAI License:


 Form B completed and signed
 List of partners/ Directors with address, contact details, and photo id proof
 Name and list of machinery and equipment with the installed capacity.
 List of a category of food that you will manufacture
 Authority letter for manufacturer giving a responsible person name or address
 Source of raw material
 Report of water to be used in the process. In order to confirm the portability
 PA/NOC document issued by FSSAI
 Form IX
 Certificate from the ministry of tourism
 Possession of premises proof
 Food safety management system certificate
 Document for proof of turnover
 NOC from local body or municipality.
